Some letters disappear, but the stories they carry never truly leave us.
Love Letters is a dreamlike exploration of lost correspondence, childhood memories, and the enduring presence of love.
At the center of the painting stands a woman who may be seen as the artist, a storyteller surrounded by two younger figures who evoke the innocence and wonder of childhood. Together, they inhabit a colorful, imaginary world filled with patchwork patterns, paper boats, and a paper airplane — small symbols of messages sent, memories carried, and stories waiting to be discovered.
A bird above a clock hints at the transition from night to morning, as if a forgotten tale is slowly coming back to life. The painting also draws inspiration from the spirit of Scheherazade and the timeless tradition of storytelling, where stories become a way of preserving love and passing memories from one generation to the next.
Beneath its playful colors lies a more intimate reflection on family, memory, and the traces of love that remain long after the words themselves have disappeared.
With Love Letters, I wanted to create a world that feels both childlike and timeless — a place where lost letters can be found again, not necessarily as physical objects, but as stories that continue to live within us.
